Computing

At West Oxford, our aims in teaching computing are:

  • For pupils to have access to a varied computing curriculum, where they can apply skills that will equip them for their future learning
  • For pupils to be be confident with a range of ICT resources
  • For pupils to be able to understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation. 
  • Allow opportunities for pupils to evaluate and apply information technology, including new or unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problems
  • Support pupils to be  responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology

At West Oxford we use Year 6 Digital Leaders to support teachers and pupils in using technology within school and accessing the computing curriculum.
